Olympusat has launched a new area within its business: {Olympusat 360;www.olympusat360.com}. Today, Olympusat represents six TV channels within Latin America: TV Chile, Momentum, Cablenoticias, TBN Enlace, La Familia Cosmovisión and soon a channel in Mexico. PRODU spoke with Albert Estrada, senior VP of Development of New Business who is at the forefront of the new initiative. Olympusat 360 runs 14 different services. Among those services are the scanning of old movies to convert them into HD quality; video streaming with Olympusat Streaming, the modification from the HD format with a single button, digital storage and the planning of digital media, Estrada explained. He mentioned that the scanning of films to HD gives the company the opportunity to completely restore material and to color-correct it. Until now, weve corrected more than 200 movies since we launched the service in January of last year, and those movies are being aired on Ultra Clásico, one of our channels launched in May of this year. Its an important service for us now that we market, and we have seven clients. He emphasized that the service has competitive rates at the third of the price of Bollywood, where the prices are a lot better than Hollywood. Weve been able to launch these services with really competitive rates taking advantage of the costs in Mexico and also all the operations we do internally.
